Iran Reports Explosions, Airstrikes Amid New US Strikes

(MENAFN) Explosions and airstrikes were reported early Thursday across southern Iran during what appears to be a new wave of US attacks, according to Iranian media outlets.

Iranian state television said that five “enemy projectiles” hit a site in the Kargan area of Minab city in Hormozgan province.

Additional blasts were reported in Bandar Abbas, while other Iranian media outlets described explosions and air defense activity in Jask, Qeshm, and Sirik, also located in Hormozgan province.

According to reports, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces had launched further “self-defense” strikes on multiple targets inside Iran.

CENTCOM said the operation was carried out on the orders of US President Donald Trump and was in response to what it described as Iran’s “continued aggression.”
